Middle School Adjustment Counselor
Responsibility:
The School Adjustment Counselor is directly responsible to the School Principal.
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed as a Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Must hold a Master's degree or higher
- Clinical experience preferred
- Experience working with students diagnosed with social emotional disabilities
- Counseling background in Guidance or Adjustment.
General Duties:
The School Adjustment Counselor contributes to student success in visible and meaningful ways. The School Adjustment Counselor supports a comprehensive developmental counseling program for all students 9-12 to improve the educational outcomes of students especially students who are experiencing barriers to learning. School Adjustment Counselors structures activities to meet the needs of students; collaborates with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance their effectiveness in helping students; and works in harmony with the school staff to promote the total elementary school program and student achievement.
