Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor Degree, required
• Master Degree, preferred
• Maintains a valid Massachusetts teaching and administrator certification
• Experience in educational administration preferred
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of effective instructional practices, curriculum development, and student support services
• Familiarity with educational regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in alternative education
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build partnerships
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education

 

General Duties:

 

As the Director of Weymouth Evening High School, you will oversee the operation, development, and administration of the evening school program. The Director will be responsible for creating a supportive and enriching educational environment tailored to the needs of students who require alternative scheduling options. The Director will encompass strategic planning, staff management, student support, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with state and district regulations and standards.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Work is primarily performed in an educational setting.  Work may require in-district travel between schools as well as occasional out-of-district travel.  Work requires direct contact with staff, students and community members.  The nature of the position requires hours beyond the regular school day.  It is expected that the person filling this position will give priority to completing the necessary tasks and set hours accordingly.

 

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Classification:

 

This position is classified as Exempt

 

Terms of Employment:

 

12 month, non-union, individual contract
